Privacy policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
The short version: this website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or ad trackers. The only personal information collected is your email address, and only if you choose to join the mailing list.
Who we are
Long Shot Software is a one-person independent game studio. “We” and “us” on this page mean Long Shot Software, and “the site” means www.longshotsoftware.com.
The mailing list
- What we collect: your email address. When you sign up, our email provider also records the date, time and IP address of the sign-up and of your confirmation click, as proof that you asked to join.
- Why: to send you occasional news about our games. We only add you after you confirm by clicking the link in the confirmation email (“double opt-in”), and we rely on that consent to email you.
- Who handles it: our mailing list is stored and sent by MailerLite, who process it on our behalf and under their own privacy and security commitments.
- How long we keep it: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Sharing: we never sell, rent or share your email address with anyone else.
Cookies and tracking
The site itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
Third-party services
- Fonts: the site’s fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which can see your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Videos: trailers are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may set cookies once you press play.
- Links: when you follow a link to Discord, X, YouTube, Facebook or Steam, that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Hosting
Like most websites, our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and maintenance. We don’t use these logs to identify or track visitors.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the UK or EU GDPR), you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. The quickest way to stop emails is the unsubscribe link. For anything else, reply to any of our emails, or contact us through the Discord server or the social links on our About page. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The mailing list isn’t intended for children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
